Default 1941Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup front shock links-help to identify

I sent off front lever shocks on my '41 pickup for rebuilding. While waiting I ordered new Front shock links from Carpenter. Catalog calls for 4 inch center to center for '41 Pickup. Shocks arrived and I started mounting them up. I noticed the old links-still on the workbench- were pounded up pretty good-and one broke off its perch mount stud and they are 3 inch center to center. I start looking and see some suppliers selling 1940 shock link part number for '41 and others list 41 all together different. One source told me 41 pick up and sedan delivery are same as 1940 for front end stuff. I'm hoping someone can tell me if 3 inch or 4 inch shock links are correct for '41 1/2 ton pickup.
Thanks in advance

Ford parts books call for the 3". Your correct there is much confusion over the length for 40. I don't believe your PU has a front stabilizer bar.

I don’t believe the pickups came with anti-sway bars. My 41 pickup does not have one either.

When I replaced the shocks on mine, it had longer front shock links, something like 4”, but I found the 3” links fit much better. I figure a previous owner trusted a bad part catalogue. You heard correctly, the 40-41 pickups had 1940 passenger car chassis parts.

You may consider why the old front links appear so bad. Was the front end, when raised, moving the shock past it's limits? Neither the shock or the link are made to withstand that kind of hammering. A slightly longer link could correct this.
