Re: Dropping the oil pan
thanks everyone.
Stopped at brattens and got pretty much everything i need for the lower end. i was going to do this on my shop floor but i think im going to bug my great uncle and see if i can take it over to his house and utlize his lift this weekend and get it done. he had the twin to this when i was a kid so he knows alot about them and i believe he still has parts laying around. and if we need anything he only lives about 2 miles from brattens got some other stuff as well i think if i really bust into this it will be a driver this weekend

Re: Dropping the oil pan
Don't feel bad. I made the same goof when recording a pan-drop video. In editing, hearing myself say that, did one of those forehead open-palm slaps. D'oh! But since it was already said, and done, it was just another opportunity to prove that I am not perfect.

Re: Dropping the oil pan
Speaking for myself, I would strongly consider pulling the engine so that I could check the crank shims with the motor on the stand and do a better job than on my back underneath.

Re: Dropping the oil pan
Just mentioning it will help to include the inspection and reworking the oil pump. I have cleaned several screens, and replaced the driver gear in different drivers so while you are there, as Paul mentions in his video, look around. Assuming never works out for me.
