Looking where to buy the roof material for a 1938 woody. I had it tear above the windshield and can’t seem to find the material online anywhere. It’s brown in color and has a grain like pattern in it.

I believe black is all you are likely to find. When I'd restored my wagon, I utilized the black and then painted it.

What was used to paint it? Wouldn’t some sort of vinyl dye have to be used?

For my 40, all I could find was black that was wide enough. After installed on the car, but before the rain gutters were installed, I masked the entire car off and cleaned the top with wax and grease remover which is a low grade reducer, and shot the top with SEM vinyl dye that was tinted to match alanwoodieman's sample. No loss of points on the EFV8 concourse 2 different times. Good luck, I am often asked where to get authentic material and I really have no answer now that LB is gone.
