1955 Thunderbird magicair heater cable routing
I looked through my shop manual but not much Tbird specific info. I just got a 55 and it seems complete, but none of the heater/fresh air cables are hooked up. The drivers side fresh air cable just ends beyond the battery, I don't see any place to hook it. On the passenger side by the blower motor I see a bracket to hold a cable but no lever for it to actuate and no cable going to the bracket. Under the dash, the temp cable is hooked to the vacuum switch on the heater box, but the vent/defrost cable is just hanging under there and doesn't seem long enough to go under the hood. Thanks for any information!

Scroll down the pictures in this add. White car, easier to see the cables hooked up. Sounds like you may be missing the flappers in the ducts, but this might help.
The vent defrost hooks up on the heater box, it doesn’t go under the hood. Too many years, I can’t remember just where it hooks up. Someone else may come up with a picture of the heater box out. https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/...le-c-14977.htm |
