Thank you for clarifying. You and KULTULZ cleared it up for me. I checked info from purchase and it does not say XL anywhere in my messages with the seller. I typed XL but the car is not badged anywhere as an XL either. Error on my part

It's no problem, no foul.

Older (newer also) cars can be very complicated to identify. It's hard to say how many modifications were done in it's service life.

Here is a photo of the REVERSED SPRING SHACKLES SYNDROME so prevalent pre-1965 -


Now there were shackle kits available that would allow raising to accommodate such things as air bags, etc. for traction aide.

When the 1962 Full Size Fords were released, the 500 XL was not available.
