First always clean the area well with mineral spirits.
A new tube of 'Crazy Glue' has worked in the past very well. Currently I also use black 'Flex Seal' as a backer on the bottom of the mat. |

Water proof tape, you know that stuff they make a boat with, on TV.
Get it where you want it the first time. There is no removing and retrying again. Would make great backing for your problem. Got mine at ACE hardware
