1939 Pickup emergency brake cable
Hello, I have lots of questions on my new 1939 pickup project. First i would like to know if anyone has the front half of the e brake cable. It threads into the wishbone under the floor at bottom of e brake lever and goes to the center of truck (about 36") and threads in again to a bracket which pulls the rear cable to both drums. Or if someone has photos of theres while mounted so i can see the routing and what brackets / holders i am missing if any. I will post photos of truck once i figure out how. For some reason i am not allowed.
Thanks for having me John |

Re: 1939 Pickup emergency brake cable
OK, I hope these help and are what you are looking for. I tried to get images of the entire routing. Note at the wheel there is a little e-clip that is hard to see (91A-2113). There is a dust boot missing where it goes into the backing plate that is part of 91A-2275. There is a grommet missing where it goes through the frame center section (#91A-2273). I don't have images of the clip locations, sorry. They are important though because on one of the pickups I disassembled they were missing and the cable had rubbed half way through a stay rod somehow!
All the part #'s above and the armored cable (91A-2853) are available from parts houses |

Re: 1939 Pickup emergency brake cable
Thanks that is under dash lever. I amlooking for the floor mount version. I have the back half already installed to the brakes. When i get to shop this weekend i will get some photos. The cable I need is about 36” and threaded on both ends.

Re: 1939 Pickup emergency brake cable
4 speed. I don’t know if it’s a 3/4 or 1 ton. Do you have ways to tell if it is a 3/4 or 1. Most places don’t carry much for the “big trucks”. Any info would be great. Unfortunately truck cam with only the paperwork for crossing border. And bill of sale.

IIRC 3/4 ton had wide five bolt pattern. Try Chuck's Trucks for info.
