Default Renninger's meet

I haven't heard anything about the Model A meet at Gene Renninger's in Bird-in-hand,Pa. It's usually the last Sunday in April and it's probably the best Model A show in the East. Does anybody know whether they're having it? I know there's been talk of ending it.

Guys have talked about that place since the 1960's and I've never been there, maybe I should try and get there to see what I've missed all these years.

'Agree. The biggest and finest collection of A's all in one place that I get to see all season long!

And to add to the "specialness", it was from that fine young gentleman, Gene Renninger, that my Dad and I bought our '31 Roadster way back in 1983 (in pretty bad shape). Then the real fun started as my Dad and I embarked on the very challenging journey of restoration - for which we were very ill-prepared.

As I inherited the car from my Dad when he passed away in 2001, I've spent most of the succeeding years slowly learning from good sources (including Ford Barn!) how to correct all the mistakes we made. - But have loved every minute of it.

One of those great sources of help and encouragement, along with Bud Schwalm and Ora Landis, has been Dave Renninger. Without these great men in our hobby, I don't know where I and the Roadster would be today. I might have quit the whole Model A thing out of sheer frustration.

'See y'all at Renningers!

Thanks to all for confirming it and letting some people here know how good the show is. Dave always threatens to quit hosting the show and closing the business, for that matter due to dwindling business.

I have not been to this event before and was wondering how the flea-market was? I'm in Allentown about 1.5 hrs. away and trying to figure out if the trip is worth it. I have a list of parts I need for a 31 coupe. If anyone wants to dig through their spares to see if they have anything they want to bring along and sell at the show please PM me. Thanks.

I've always found atleast a few things I couldn't live without... but its not a huge swap meet by any means... I would say by far the whole show is worth the 1.5 hour drive.

not a large flea market maybe a dozen tables or so, but renningers has a barn full of model a original stuff which your free to walk around in plus his repop store. its worth the 1.5 hr drive probably 200 plus A's show up if the weather holds out. again get there early as it starts to disperse early afternoon as most drive there cars to it.
