1931 roadster door bumper
Hi,
a friend of mine purchased a door bumper kit. It came with two pieces of black rubber the size as ones thumb nail, and a small piece of stainless steel. We just can,t figguer out just how all of the parts are installed in the door it seems like there just is,not enough room to compress the two rubber pieces to fit all of the parts in the door hole. If there is anyone that has figgured this out, please let us know. Thanks. Frustrated big al |

Re: 1931 roadster door bumper
I end up posting this about once a year for the same reason. These are all original parts so it can serve as a guide of sorts for what modifications may be required for proper function. It's worth noting that there are multiple suppliers for these kits and they range from mediocre to "garbage". I can't specify sources as I haven't purchaced them personally. Others may be able to.

Re: 1931 roadster door bumper
Hi,
i just received your pictures of the door bumpers. Thank you. The problem here is still how to insert the rubbers in the door. They look like they are just a little too big. Is there a "shoe horn" tool that can be used with some grease? I don,t want to shave them down as i am not sure just how much is right. Thank you again. Still frustrated big al |

If you've got the "garbage" repo, then you'll have to 'shave' them down. Whittle patiently little by little until fit and function obtained. Remember that if you whittle too much...you get to try again! I don't know of anyone making "good" copies. lol |
