1939 pickup 1/2 ton Distributor
Hello,
Please indicate where I can buy the parts marked red in the attached diagram (what is the name of these parts and what they do?). Also, I need the coil for distribuidor that has number 2 in the case (see picture). What means the number 2? I have other distributor that has number 3. Can I use any of these distributors # 2 or 3 in a Ford 1939 pickup? Regards, |

Re: 1939 pickup 1/2 ton Distributor
Here are the part number (with prefix) if that helps any. I would check with on of the people/shops that rebuild them. Bubba's is always good, but he might be difficult to contact right now.
Third Gen Automotive might be a good place to start, 35fordnt here on the Barn. Note: as pointed out below, I transposed the last two letters! It should be 35fordtn! Last edited by JSeery; 08-16-2019 at 04:38 PM. |

Re: 1939 pickup 1/2 ton Distributor
Fech,
I’m not at the shop till Monday, but I’d have anything you’d need for a early ford distributor. Just as terry mentioned a 32-36 would work with proper coil and the 18-12116 caps, but unless converted to 37-41 internals they use some pretty crappy points. |
