Default 1936 Scuff plate

On the 36 cabriolet, there is an extra brace that secures to the frame with two carriage bolts and also bolts to the cross member. it is to give extra support to the A pillar area. One of the carriage bolts lines up with the hole for the front carriage bolt that secures the scuff plate. I don't think the scuff plate carriage bolt is also used as one of the two carriage bolts that secures the brace because there is a gap between the body at that point and the frame. If I used the same carriage bolt for the scuff plate and tried to secure the brace at the same time, the rocker would crimp at that point. It doesn't make sense that a brace would be secured to the frame with a carriage bolt that holds the scuff plate. Is there a different scuff plate for open cars without the hole in front for the carriage bolt?
