Insight on Henry and Edsel
I just finished the audio book version of "The Arsenal of Democracy: FDR, Detroit, and an Epic Quest to Arm an America at War" by A. J. Baime.
The book is about WWII, of course, but focuses on Henry and the birth of Ford Motor Co, Edsel, and Henry II, Edsel's battles with Harry Bennett, the building of Willow Run Bomber Plant where Ford mass-produced the B-24 Liberator, FDR and Churchill, the importance of Detroit to the war effort, and the changes the war brought to America. Someone posted a video a while back about the Willow Run plant and airport, and there are other great posts about these topics, but I didn't find mention of this book during a forum search. Such a great read (listen) on subjects I love to study. I have no ties to this book, but just pass this on as a recommendation for anyone interested in Ford.

Another very good read is the hard cover book titled:
'40 Ford-Evolution-Design-Racing-Hot Rodding, by Joseph Cabadas. This book starts with the Model A, progresses up to the '40, and includes facts and pictures I've never seen or knew before about design and production, problems and accomplishments, both here and abroad. |

Re: Insight on Henry and Edsel
666 pages? Is this some message about the man himself? Although I love his cars and admire the man as an industrialist, from what I've read he appears to have been quite an unpleasant person.
