Default IDing early Ford Sector Shafts

I have a number of sector shafts that I'm trying to ID. The Ford green bible has part numbers, but not much else to identify them. These don't have any part number that I can see. Are there specific numbers I should look for or are there length measurements available for the various years? Thanks!

Early 35 and pre 35 do not have a hole for a cotter pin. The later ones do. The ratio is usually stamped into the top next to the gear teeth, such as 15 or 17.

Thanks. I feel dumber than a post trying to connect the dots on some of this stuff, but is there a logical correlation between ratio and numbers like 15 or 17? Do the shaft lengths give any indication to what they fit?

I believe the Ford green chassis parts book from 49 may list the sector shafts by ratio, if not there are other sources for the ratio by year. I don't believe there is a list by length. All of the V8 car boxes use the same diameter, I can not recall off hand.

13=1932, 15=33,34, 15 and shorter than 32-34= 1935, 17=1936.
32-34 shafts are longer than the 35-36 shafts.

Also be aware that they may not all be for Ford vehicles. I have one like the 7" one and I think it is for something odd like a tractor or some non Ford app.

Andy,

With respect, '33s were equipped with 13 to 1 sector gears like '32s. The switch to 15 to 1 took place with the '34 model year.
