Today being his 80th, GI Blues is on the TV, brings back memories being stationed in Germany during the early 60s, long sleeved khakis, saddle back garrison caps, Frankfort Kasernes and the Frankfort Bahnhof location. Great songs too, GI Blues, Big Boots and Wooden Heart.

Ironic, I was back in Germany when he died. I played his music all night long and got drunk bigtime.

Well, I can provide a picture of Elvis in an A. In fact, not ONE but TWO Elvises (..shouldn't that be "Elvi"?) I think one of these went to the wrong wig shop!!

Also, various Elvi in various other Ford vehicles, and one BigHead Elvis in the obligatory pink Caddie. I think the Blues Brothers got their dates mixed up??!!

Also, for your enlightenment (and to fly the Aussie flag), note the pair of Elvi in the back of a 1960-61 FB Holden ute. Or is that supposed to be 3? Like Ford, Holden will cease production here in 2016 or 2017.

All these photos were taken from the street parade at the annual Elvis Festival, held in Parkes, NSW, Downunder, this very weekend. Great timing!

Elvis festivals can generally be relied upon to provide (a) some excellent machinery, and (b) some truly awful Elvis impersonators. Both are entertaining in their own special ways! I hasten to add that I wasn't there - I just lifted these from the web.

(N.B. Whitewall Advisory for some photos)

No matter what the country is, an Elvis parade is a fun time. Great pictures. ,
