How was it decided on just what the head torque sequence was to be? Not only Modle A but other heads also?
Interesting. Pluck |

You want to start in the center and "iron out" the wrinkles in a circular pattern as you go towards the edges. You dont want to lock down the edges and then move to the center.

very interesting how each of the four sequences produce a different geometric pattern shape which produces pressure in a corresponding shape for instance the sequence provided by john stone is a spiral pattern wheras the kohnke sequence is a line axis pattern that is based on the pressure applied from the line center front to back than cris crossed as an x pattern the ford one on ford garage is more of a spherical centered shape that places all pressure in the middle of the block first than tightens out the front of block than the rear . fun puzzle . thanks

Hi Steve,
I changed the torque pattern so I do the 2 water outlet nut's together...Why Ford used the outlet for head Torque is beyond me ?. Didn't use it on the "T's" or "B's"...Also just a "Tip" about the outlet.. Don't use the paper gasket for the water outlet...nor the match trick..Use no gasket with sealer or the Copper "original" type with the crush ring's.... Greg out West |
