Default I flipped my Roadster

Had a few engine stands lying around and some steel and welded up a rotisserie for the ol girl. Works like a charm. Nice and easy access to the bottom for repair work and spraying. Also straightened the body and the doors close very nicely now.

How does the balance feel? Would the same setup handle a sedan? Or would it need a wider stance?

I think the thing under the seat floorpan (or maybe is used as the floorpan in a 28/29 roadster) is the curtain tray. I have a 28 roadster I have yet to start restoring and I need to investigate the curtain tray setup.

Thanks for sharing these great photos. Very ingenious, will keep in mind for future restoration. Great idea.

Great idea, and BTW for engine stands those with 4 wheels are much safer than those with only 3 wheels. If you have a 3 wheel stand, it doesn't take much to turn it into a 4 wheel stand as shown above.

Thought about doing that for work/painting on a frame but not enough height for the running board brackets to clear. The other thing I thought that the engine stand vertical post was angled so would bind between the two. How did you deal with that? I figured I'd have to cut and re-weld vertical.

Nice. I would have guessed you would need to raise the height of the headstock to clear, but I'd have been wrong.
Thanks for sharing the pics.

I was wondering the same thing because mine are also angled up slightly, but those above do look horizontal and in line with each other.

OK, sorry but here is the downer. The body should be set lower so it pivots on the center of gravity of the body. This means you should be able to pivot it totally around without fear of too much weight to one side when you rotate 90º where it could tip over. It would also be easier to rotate because the body would not tend to over-rotate out of control.
This is easy to correct though. Mount the rotisserie frame lower by extending another mounting tube straight down from the engine stand pivot, far enough to balance the weight and then weld the rotisserie frame to that.
Here is an edited photo that shows what I mean. The attachment points are the same.
Just trying to help out for added safety.

nice idea you have but the full frame suopport under the body would be in the way big time..
as mentioned the center of gravity is off also which would make things unstable
