many of you know that i have dealt with the Il DMV in springfield many times on title and stamping issues and assisted many with said. I am strongly advising anyone DO NOT TAMPER With the STAMP, TITLE or ENGINE number at all, they are well educated and informed people and know EXACTLY what they are looking for and where! Be prudent and follow the law to the "T"

You're obviously not talking about the motor vehicle people in Kentucky. Well educated down here means they have completed the 10th grade....

I was born and raised not far from you in Waukegan and still know a lot of car guys in Lake County plus I went to high school at Carmel in Mundelein (Class of '70) with guys from all over the county. I remember a guy named Tim Cypher from Wauconda who had an orange '69 Road Runner....

The picture was the short answer and on the bottom of the picture is the link as the "rest of the story".

Why can’t we have a national program where every Model A or T with a current title have its current VIN stamped on a VISIBLE part of the frame and make it acceptable in all 50 states?

If you've got a current title you've probably been down this road already and no need to re-stamp. JMO
Paul in CT Many states, CT included will accept a bill of sale, CT doesn't even issue a title on something this old anymore.

Just goes to show you don't need a college education to get the job done.
Just need the right person who has common sense and wants to help someone get the job done.
Too many of these government jobs are filled by people just looking for an easy pay check, and they could care less about helping someone.

I'm working on several A's that had wood body sills. (Cabriolet / Vickys} The tops of the frames are so badly rusted I can't raise the serial number. After a year of trying I was able to get the original engine (with number) for one of them. My '31 roadster, however reads like the day it was stamped because there was no wood. If the number has been eaten away it may need to be "re-created".
