I like that color on roadsters. Here's mine. And yours is better!

Nice work and nice colour. Like they say, "Do it right, do it once"
That said, I would have repaired a car like this, not restored it and driven it with all of its patina.
We are envious of you guys because cars like this NEVER turn up here and I'd nearly trade my first born for one.
Don't let my daughter see this pleeeaaase!

Been awhile, but still here and still working on the 29 A, after 3 days of no luck of starting the car, I finally got it going, turned out that the AMP meter has to be wired as well. After that, it started right up. Here's a youtube link if anyone is interested in see it. Thanks.

More process on the A, for Christmas it got seats and side panels, and fenders attached! I see that first drive just around the bend!

Thanks for the comments guys. This car was not a barn find though, we bought this car from a guy who wills and deals with Model A Fords and all what he does is takes spare parts and just puts them together. He didn't even have the decency to take the birds nest out of the water pump before he put the engine together. Here are some pictures before he sold it to me and as you can see in the one picture of the snow covered A's in the back ground. Poor A's

Still here and slowly but surely the A will get done, we went for our first ride a few months ago, runs wells and shifts very nice. Since we replaced all of the engine mounts and added the small front engine spring in front (didnt have one before) it takes off just smooth as smooth, no more chattering. .. The only thing is about after 10 minutes of each ride the car starts to boil, i read some where that it might be a bad head gasket? The engine only got a valve job and new water pump and that was it. Also we finally got the head lights for it rebuilt, dad didn't want the chrome ones so we got the old ones re-nickle and put back together. Heres some pictures.

Mine did the same thing. Eliminated everything motor related, even flow tested the radiator and it was good...It was the radiator.

Had it re-cored and she runs cool as a cucumber since.

Thank you for sharing your build; the photos truly help those like myself who have not built our cars and are learning...

What paint color is that, exactly, and and in what direction did it go "wrong?"

It was suppose to be the standard 29 Thorne Brown which is a lot darker then this. But some how the paint shop ended up with this color. We decided we liked it better so we kept it.

Eliminate a cracked block(water in the oil) when you pull the head.
The boiling sounds familiar.
