!949 Ford Headlamp Grounds
I have a nicely restored 1949 Ford Coupe. I rewired it several years ago with authentic reproduction stock and the finished job came out beautifully. However, I never had driven the car after dark until recently and now find that the headlights are very dim.
I hadn't worked on one of these cars in decades and from way back I seem to recall that the headlamps grounds might be the screws that fasten the headlamp buckets to the fenders. Does anyone have any guidance before I jump into the job? |

Re: !949 Ford Headlamp Grounds
Back in the day when all metal was bright and shiny, grounding was not an issue. Today, you cannot rely on rusty bolts to do the job. You need to bypass all the poor connections, start at the terminal using dialectric grease on a good solid connection, running copper wire directly to the car's frame.
