Hey Vic, I know what you mean. It hit 90 here yesterday on the sweltering east coast of Florida, with an ocean breeze. Rarely do we ever see triple digets like up north. Gotta love it. But honestly I would like to make it to mountains this summer.

I don't want to rub it in but, I am partial to Calif. Was out of state in the service and swore to never leave home again. Occasionally when I see pictures or movies of the midwest and east coast I think it would be nice to visit. Then I come to my senses and remember what the air is like. I will be movng to Bend, Or. which is cooler and even drier than Calif. It has been running around 80 temp. and 50 humidity. The evenings have a cool breeze and the temp dorps to 50 at night. Sorry.

Guess I'm running against the wind... I like the cold weather much more than hot. Grew up in Michigan and enjoy the winter activities. When I went in the service I got stationed in South Carolina where it seemed the humidity and temperatures were consistently in the 90s throughout the summer - which seemed to run March - November.

While there I had a nice '70 Satellite convertible to enjoy with the top down - WRONG - too frickin' hot!

Sometimes I thought us northern boys would sweat our gotchas off in that climate.

I dunno, I can always dress for winter's cold days, but in the sizzling summer heat if I tried undressing for them I'd likely get arrested for breaking some obsenity laws

Down South (Florida in my case) in the summer time we only drop the top at night, not because it's too hot during the day but, if you get caught at one of the century long traffic lights, you'll cook in the sun with the top down...

I lived in "Sacratomato" for over 12 years and ran uniform routes in the daytime heat but the Delta Breezes that came in in the late afternoon made things nice and kept down the A/C bills lower.

My neighbors think I am nuts but, I haven't turned on the heat or AC in three years. I dress for warmth in the winter and the house doesn't get over 80 in the summer. I can handle it. The all electric utility bill never goes over $60 per month. I think most of that is for the plasma TV.

Hi Lee, why don't you plan on coming up to the Moonshine Festival/Mountain "Barner's Bash" at Dawsonville in October...

Vic, when is the festival this year. Do you need reservations well in advance? Our problem is we seldom know if we can go until 2-3 days before.

Our problems are:
1. A business that requires too much time.

2. Four grandkids

3. Another due in October

4. Racing schedule

5. I'm getting old and slow

But, I would love to drive our 40 sedan down---even though it's not flathead powered.
