Getting Andy in there was the easy part.

Getting Andy out....well, that's another story.

My 75 year old neighbor was a guy who was always putting his wife down or embarrassing her in some way.

The two were out walking one summer day and passed my driveway were I was loading some neighborhood kids for a ride in my '30 Coupe's rumble seat.

Thinking that he could make her blush in front of the adults that were near the car, he nudged her and said "Remember when we used to do it in the rumble seat?"

She didn't even crack a smile as she responded "You never were any good ! "

I once gave an older lady a ride in my 1930 Coupe with a rumble seat at the Iola Old Car Show. She was very knowledgeable about Model As. She told me that she often double dated and rode in the rumble seat. I was a bit hesitant but asked her anyway how could anyone "Rumble" in the rumble seat as there is not enough room. She looked at me, giggled, smiled, and said "You'd be amazed" She looked away and kept giggling. That memory will always make me giggle a bit but for a different reason.

i am 21 & do not even know what this is?
i do know one thing though, she jumped out of the seat too soon while the car was still moving & that was how her clothes got ripped.

Now 5window...50-100 pounds overweight sure as heck wouldn't of stopped anyone in the heat of the night!

This reminds me of the time I was washing my 1929 Standard Coupe with Rumble Seat at a car wash in Chico, California back in 1982.

All of a sudden this 80 year old lady came by and noticed the car and came over to look at it. She asked me if it had a rumble seat and I said yes, would you like to see it? She said "Oh yes". So I opened the deck lid and she showed me a big smile. She said "Sonny...The stories I could tell you about that rumble seat!". I said "Mamm, there is no doubt you surely could".

Hmmmmmmm...Maybe she is the lady in the picture!

Have you ever seen the rumble seat on a 36 Ford? It's huge.

Wink Re: She stayed in the rumble seat too long

Back on the old original FordBarn is when this poster first appeared, if I remember right. The owner was looking for what the value would be on it. I can't recall what he sold it for. But, I did get 2 copies of it. One of these days I'll frame one and put it in the rumble seat of my '29 roadster. To warn all the ladies when I go to the local cruise-in.
