Off the internet weeks ago about $170 @ A deal, but 3weeks to show. Are they now Mexican mfg?? Installed one in my 48 Merc and it fired right up. Been sitting too longgg! Minor problems did show-so some extra work. 6V Optimas can cost $250 @. I was glad to get these.

Johnson Controls moved their Optima manufacturing to Mexico about 20 years ago. They had some initial problems but everything has been fine since. One of their VP's was on the H.A.M.B. at the time and kept us apprised of what was going on. I was impressed at how they handled it.

Could not find the mfg dates. Even not on the gray stubs as usual. They have lasted many yrs for me lost two by selling the cars with them. My blue '53 , I owned 24yrs with the optima probably over 15 yrs. I just Googled them and bought the cheapest ones offered. Newc
