I believe some assembly plants used up their '28 supply of fluted headlight lenses into early 1929. I can't make out the shape of the crank hole cover to differentiate between the 1928 and 1929 designs. Still, though, 'kind of hard to get around that 1929 center bumper clamp, isn't it? 1928 = round, 1929 = oval.
'Love these mystery car detective (or is that "defective"?) sleuthing postings to identify years and even body styles. It hones our recognition skills - until you consider Ford constantly throws us curve balls with overlapping parts installed at various times on the assembly lines without being courteous enough to tell us restorers about the running changes.
