Default 49-51 Woody vs the other 49-51 Models

I am restoring a 1950 Woody my car was built without the stainless windshield trim, my question is will a Sedan or Convertible trim fit the windshield surround?

Your car is therefore a late year production car. There are many differences between early year and late year 1950 Ford station wagons, including deletion of the windshield stainless trim, two quarter windows instead of three, steel tailgate instead of wood, fold down seats instead of removable seats, and steel/DI-NOC side panels instead of mahogany. The station wagon has a different windshield than sedan and convertible so the stainless trim will not fit.

The Ford station wagon body was basically a Mercury body that was adapted for use on the Ford chassis, and has many Mercury parts including door handles, rear end and rear bumper.

V8ER......This car has been a learning experience for me. Yes, it is a late production 1950 with the metal tailgate. I thought there was more similarities between the Woodie and the other 49-51 cars, but not so. Your comment that Mercury body parts may carry over is my newest revelation. So back to my original post do you think the 40-51 Mercury windshield trim is what the 49-51 woodie used?

In addition, when the stainless trim was deleted, the windshield gasket was changed.
