making your own body trim clips
I had a 1940 Plymouth that I had repainted. When I got the car back I had all the body trim but I didn't have any clips to use to put the trim on. I ended up getting washers that fit inside the molding and put a screw through the washer and slid it into the channel of the trim. I slid the screws to line up with the holes in the body and put a lock washer and nut on the screw after I put the screw though the hole. Has anyone done this or something like this? Looking for some ideas for my next project that may be better or easier. Thanks

Re: making your own body trim clips
post #2 offers good advice. Also, any decent automotive paint supply store has a wide variety available.

Re: making your own body trim clips
Restoration Specialties & Supply has just about any moulding clip you can need. I don't know what your's looks like but they have several listed for '40 Plymouth. They also have a great catalog.

Re: making your own body trim clips
My local NAPA had a binder with all types of clips on each page, I matched up the one I had and the next day they had a small bag of them for me.

Agree with woodiewagon46… RS&S has tons of clips and many, many other items that have been hard to find elsewhere. They also have great service.
