I have a cast iron 2 groove wide belt crank pulley used on 48-52 ford flathead trucks. These pulleys are pressed steel but never saw a cast iron one. What were they used on ??? If I remember correctly I bought it from a Canadian collector.

I just pulled a cast iron pulley off the engine in a ‘46 Mercury.
Double pulley, wide belt. |

The 59 series had a different pulley due to the fan location. Canada always did things a little different than Ford US. They had their own foundry and may have found it less expensive to cast rather then deal with dies and presses for such items.

That makes a lot of sense. I installed it on my 8BA engine, no problems. Thanks for your thoughts

I think C8BA-6312-B is cast into the back side on those.

Cast pulleys like yours were common in Australia also.
