3,000 in 2020 - With radial tires a 3sp overdrive, 6:1 head, B cam, intake and carb. Top speed was 67 mph early in the morning on a very smooth highway, with almost no other traffic. It was just a one time thing to see how fast it would go on the GPS wave app.
I regularly drive my car 60 mile round trips to work. It does so well in modern traffic we use it to grocery shop on weekends. Next upgrade will be juice brakes and an F1 steering box. |

JNR1967-
modifications you have so far are worthwhile for your purposes, but the juice brakes will be a time/money-consuming disappointment. spend it instead making the mechanicals 100% with cast iron drums if needed. to a lesser extent the steering "upgrade" is not required- make sure youe two-tooth box is 100%, then add teflon ball seats + a short pittman arm..... sometimes less is more.
