Born 1945 and Model A's and Austin 7's were our normal transport as teenagers.
New Zealand had a policy that made the purchase of new cars difficult and so old cars were well maintained and kept their value (a bit like Cuba but not as bad) Overseas visitors were known to say it was a bit like stepping back into the past, combined with no Sunday shopping and pubs closing at 6:00, it all seems a little quaint in retrospect |
