I always think it's funny that the "modern points" are called modern. Considering they were designed for a 1950s - 1970's cars when they are antiques themselves.

That being said, Lately I've had a lot of problems with reproduction ignition parts on various antique cars I own. Mostly distributer caps, points and condensers, and even one very expensive voltage regulator which failed in a very short time.

I've begun to look for either NOS or gently used ignition parts as spares as a result as something to collect at flea markets. They don't take up much room, are relatively cheap, and were made in large enough numbers that the quality control was pretty tight.

Nos or Gently used parts are a good idea. I have 23,000 miles on my used points in my 28 A
