Default Interior wood piece(s)

I am restoring a 1929 tudor sedan and I have a question or two about one of the interior wood pieces. The piece(s) I am questioning are the ones that fit in the rear of the body, just behind the rear side windows, and just above the rear seat riser. The top part of them are curved to fit the rear of the body and there is a piece that is screwed into it and extends downward. Where exactly do I screw the top piece into and where does the vertical downward piece attach to or where is it supposed to be? Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Bob.
