Default Spark Plug "disguise"

Came across this and found it interesting. The brass nuts are easy enough to find at Lowe's or Home Depot, but looking around in the plumbing section, I couldn't find anything to easily make the sleeve from.

Anyone ever done this?

8-32 Brass Knurled nuts and a 4mm-0.70 tap to get the nuts to fit a Autolite or Motorcraft Sparkplug.
