Default hurricane sandy on long island

this storm did some damage here on long island the south shore is destroyed many houses burned to the ground because fire dept. could not get to them. i worked the storm at my firehouse i was there for 36 hr's. we answered 97 calls in that time as well as aiding other depts we run average 1500 calls per year. we are a volunteer dept as well as many on long island all of which did a wonderful job with the limited services. thankfully the 60 ft pine in my yard didnt come down although it raised the ground and split the roots .as for the ranchero she survived in the garage with nopower all i can do is install trim hope everyone else is safe
