How do you know when springs needs to be rebuilt or replaced?
I've noticed that my '31 Model A Fordor sits a bit lower (1-2 inches) than a few other cars (of the same year and model) I have seen and I wonder if this means my car's springs need to be rebuilt/fixed/replaced?
My car rides and handles great, but is there an easy way to determine if the front and rear springs have lost some of thier support?
I recall someone indicating that for the front spring, the bumper-to-floor distance should be 18.5 inches, but is that from the floor to the bottom of the bumper?
What should the (bumper-to-floor) measurement be for the rear spring?
Thanks.
