Default '36 Ford Humpback Deck lid Latch

I have a 1936 Ford 2dr sedan humpback. I am getting ready to put the deck lid on. I have the upper hinges on and getting ready to put the latches on the bottom of the deck lid. The part of the latch that mounts directly to the car has some grooves on the back side of it. It looks like there should be another piece that is grooved the same way to go with it. It looks like that is how you can adjust the latch either in or out to make the lid fit correctly.
My question is, am I correct in assuming that there are 2 grooved pieces for each side or only the one. I only have the outer most piece that the latch hooks to.

Thanks for any help you can give me!
