Well after putting lots of money into my baby we loaded her and the chase car up and set off for California on Sat. The first part of the trip consisted of making it over the Siskyu pass, through Shasta and to Willows for the night. No major problems occurred-fortunately. On Sunday we drove down 99W through the central valley in 101 degree temps and I had a blast. I got more heat from the firewall than outside.
99W is a great road to drive, the speed is the same as on the freeway-for me at least. There was no traffic and the scenery was fantastic and extremely relaxing. That afternoon we got to Livermore and put her to bed. The only real problems that I encountered were that if I stopped suddenly she would die quietly. I got pretty good at revving her up at stop signs to keep her going. I am figuring a fuel blockage somewhere. The other problem is that the steering got looser. I started out with about 2 inches of free play and ended with about 4 inches. But the nice thing is, she drove and steered just fine over a really good Model A road. So now, I am dreaming of the rest of the car show/touring season and going in my car. Mike
