Default Update broken piston thread

I posted in back in May about a broken piston in my 30 coupe.
I have installed new pistons and adjusted clearance on rods and mains.
I used a gram scale and balanced the weight of the rods and pistons which I hoped would make the engine smoother, When I first drove it after that I was kind of disappointed it was not very smooth but I kept driving it some and it kept getting better I have a about 150 miles on it now and I am amazed how nice it hums along at 45/50 mph I even have a clear sharp image in the rearvew mirrors now.
I have a Question about the rear main oil drain tube, I have read that if that tube is shortened the oil will drain back better, Is that a good idea or not.
It doesn't appear to leak any oil while running but it will drip a few minutes after it is shut off which I would like to try and cure. TIA for any info.
