Default New Oil Pumps and Flywheel Housings

The new oil pumps and flywheel housings will be available in September 2025.

I do not have any performance data on the oil pumps being used on the new engine.

I would appreciate your help if you have one of the new engines, a pistol grip infrared thermometer with a laser light, and a tachometer.

Which oil pump are you using?
Stock Model A
Modified Model A oil pump to double the flow areas in the pump
The Leonard Nettles oil pump
Modified V-8 oil pump with reversed intake and output ports
Dan Price oil pump
An oil pump from another engine
A stock Bill Stipe oil pump
A modified Bill Stipe oil pump

Please point the laser-infrared thermometer at the same place on the oil pan during the measurements.

With cold oil (below 150 degrees F), measure and document the oil pressure and RPM at Idle, 1000 RPM, 2000 RPM, 2500 RPM, and 3000 RPM.

With hot oil (above 185 degrees F), measure and document the oil pressure and RPM at idle, 1000 RPM, 2000 RPM, 2500 RPM, and 3000 RPM.

We ran the engineering evaluation engine for 7 hours at 3100 RPM, with an oil temperature of 260 degrees F, and the oil pressure was 4 PSI, so don't be afraid of 3000 RPM.

Please document the weight of oil you are using, which oil pump you are using, and the measured results with cold and hot oil.

You can reply to [email protected] or post on the internet for all to see.

Thank you for your help, Terry Burtz
