Exclamation Stiff Gas Pedal Issue While Running - 1934 Ford V8 Flathead with Holley 94

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here can help me with a strange issue I’m experiencing with my 1934 Ford V8 Flathead, which has a Holley 94 carburetor.

The problem occurs only when the engine is running: the gas pedal becomes stiff when I try to press it down. Once I manage to press it, it feels fine again, but this makes it hard to drive smoothly.

What’s puzzling is that when the engine is off, the pedal works perfectly—smooth and without any resistance.

Has anyone encountered something similar or have any ideas what might be causing this? I’m wondering if it could be related to vacuum, a carburetor adjustment, or perhaps something in the pedal mechanism, but I’m not sure where to start troubleshooting.

I’d greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks in advance!
