Default Question re early Ford speedos. (1940)

Can anyone tell me how many cable revs per mile a 1940 speedo is calibrated to? For example my 100E is 1000 cable revs per mile. What is the equivalent number for a 1940 Ford?

I found an old post by Bruce Lancaster saying most USA cars are also 1000 revs per mile (or 1000 rpm at 60mph) Is this right for a 40?

We have to assume correct wheel diameters and speedo turtle gears.

Thanks in advance.

Mart.
