Default 40 Ford hood center trim installation problem update

Thought I would up-date my April center trim installation post that some of you had replied to. After several tries using my slightly modified clips with no success, and after I had opened up the slots with a small file, I took a break and went on to other issues with the fresh built '40.

I got tired of the car without the hood's center trim and decided to get it done. After consulting with a fellow '40 owner, we figured there was too much movement between the outer wire of the modified clips and the trim's lower channel, allowing clip upward movement while pushing down on the prongs.

This time, and with new Bob Drake clips, I did not try to reshape them to fit easier into the trim piece, but just carefully installed them, making sure the prongs were carefully aligned and in place. With help from my '40 buddy, we finally got the clips locked in place and trim installed. What a pita, but it's done! Some of the simplest jobs on this build have been the most trying!
