I'm on a mission to find Ford's M-#s for white interior colors used in '64 Fords, Fairlanes, Falcons, Mustangs and T-birds. In going through Ditzler, duPont, Rinshed-Mason, Acme and Martin-Seynour color charts, I'm having little to no luck finding an off-white or 'pearl' white interior semi-gloss paint chip and/or Ford's color number, i.e. M30J-xxxx for alkyd enamel, M4J-xxxx for lacquer, AE60-xxxx for acrylic enamel, etc.
While I found a '65 interior listing with M4J-1824 (lacquer), I don't think it was used for '64 interiors; I suspect a unique color number was used for 'Pearl White' (the description in Ford Body catalogs for color used on painted parts in '64). Photos I've seen of '64 vs '65 white interiors make me think that '1824' is a bright white color vs. a 'pearl' or off-white. I don't think that Wimbledon White (code 'M' / AE60-1619 for acrylic enamel) nor '64-1/2 Mustang Pace Car White (code 'C' / M30J-1525 or AE60-1619) was used as the basis for the interior color for dash pads, door panels, vinyl-coated parts like consoles and rear package trays or textured steel parts like the seat back shields and seat bottom skirts, especially if they were considered to be a 'pearl' finish. In fact, Ford's M-#'s used for interior colors in '64 ranged from 1429 to 1715, with several in the 1500s and many in the 1600s. Anyone have any documentation as to what 'white' was used for '64 interiors?
