I don't do that on rear springs, it makes it very difficult to reinstall. I recommend removing leaves to lower the rear of the car. Keep the top leaf in place because it is contoured to fit into the crossmember. Remove every-other leaf. I removed 3 on my tudor, and like the way it sits.
