Kinda sound like moist sand is the issue Lawson, I used to have a unit like yours and it happened often with mine. I have a Tip pressure unit now and have a moisture trap and still have to keep the bleeder open a bit because of surplus moisture coming in the line . U need ultra dry media as you already know i'm sure.
