Default Re: 1940 Ford stumbles when making a sharp left or right turn

Rock....I'll look into changing it. Stumbling in my terms means....when you press on the gas pedal....it acts like it's not getting enough gas and the engine bucks. When I get through 1st and 2nd gear it smooths out. It starts on first turn of the engine and idles perfect at 300 rpm's. The car has run perfect for almost 10 years. I've gone through 3 carbs and I can't believe all 3 are bad !! I'm in the process of by-passing the fuel Regulator and going straight from the electric pump to the carb this morning. We'll see !!

cmbru.....car was rewired about 20 years ago I would say. I've checked that, but who knows I may have missed something.

More later....I either need more coffee or a Jack Daniel's !!
