Default Tie Rod Grease Fitting Direction

I just realized that the direction of the tie rod grease fittings on one of my 1930 Model A’s do not match the tie rod grease fitting direction on my other cars. On the other cars all of the grease fittings face to the rear. On my Tudor the passenger side faces rear, the driver side faces forward which is not as easy to grease. Do I have the wrong end on the drivers side?

I also noticed that the end cap on the passenger side is screwed in quite a bit deeper into the housing than on my other cars. I pulled the cap there is a teflon cup that fits into the steel end cap, and the ball is deep into the tie rod housing.

On the other side of the ball, I believe there should be a spring and another teflon cup. I am thinking either the spring is broken, and or the teflon cup is missing.

If I only screw the cap in as far as the other cars, I am not sure the ball will be against the teflon cup under the end cap.

Anybody have any thoughts?
