For those who can't drill a hole, I couldn't either after 2 days trying, not even a dent. My problem was the angle kept the bit sliding even after trying to use a hole punch. I figure Ford had some mysyterious irradiated high carbon steel for that part, so I just looped the cable around it. Works for me, while it isn't as pretty it will work and I no longer worry about a permanently locked hood. There is no way to open it without kidnapping the little fellow at the circus as the circus has done left town.
