John CT, post #: 43: "With age there's knowledge and plenty of knowledge here"
__________________________________________________ _____ Born in 1888. I was one of Henry Ford's first employees, having been brought over from the shops of John and Horace Dodge, to help lay out the set-up to correctly fit the chassis drive chain components that Dodge built, to the Ford bodies of the FordMobile. After that company failed, I joined Henry in his later Ford Motor Company in 1903. We still used automotive drive units that John and Horace built to power the new Ford. My memory is beginning to fade now, but as I remember, John and his brother Horace were major stock holders in the new Ford Motor Company, until Henry's shrewd move about 1923 to squeeze them out. I don't drive much anymore, since my eyes started to go south. I use public transportation to get to my job as Air Traffic Controller. |
