Default '40 clutch equalizer ball reinforcement

I have my engine/trans in the car ('38 Ford) and am preparing to mount the clutch equalizer ball. I know it must be reinforced along the bottom of the frame rail but I don't know what kind of material or the measurements. Any information on the stock reinforcement measurements, etc, would be appreciated.

If you all will bear with me for just a little longer I hope to stop asking so many questions.
