While in high school, I used to work part time in a Texaco station and we had a '41 wrecker (not as nice as this one).
Seem to recall that it had what was called a 'stump puller' transmission.
We, on occasion, would put it in low/low gear and then walk beside it while it slowly rolled along at idle speed. (ah' the good old days)
