water outlet problem.

This might be a dumb question but I don't seem to be able to stop water from leaking from the water outlet on to of the head. Yesterday I broke the outlet casting trying to tighten and upon removal the gasket seemed to be blown out on one side. Should I be using more than one gasket? also I see the vendors sell a copper gasket for show cars, although I'm building this as a daily driver, should I switch to that gasket over the paper ones? All help appreciated. Harv
